We Hurt… So He Can Heal!

It is one of the great mysteries of life—“Why is there so much suffering in the world?” I, myself, have pondered this question for many years. While we may never understand God’s perfect plan, His Word can help us gain some insight.
We Hurt So The Work of God Might Be Displayed
- We are not alone in our questions about the difficulties of life. The disciples wanted to know if sin was the cause of the blind man’s suffering. Jesus answered that the man was born blind so the work of God might be displayed.
- Simply put, the man needed to be born blind so Jesus could heal him and others could see the mighty power and love of the Lord!
Your Past Tough Time
- Think about a tough time you previously had in your own life. Were you able to see God’s love and power as the situation improved?
- It is on the other side of our healing that we can feel the love of God and are reminded that He is able to miraculously change our lives for the better.
- Matthew 19:26 (NIV)
Your Next Challenge
- Whether you are in the midst of a major challenge now or it’s coming at some point in the future, think about it in the context of the blind man. The blind man had to suffer for awhile so that Jesus could come to the rescue and heal him! Without suffering, there is no opportunity to witness a healing.
- Jesus is looking for an opportunity to bring you some relief! It is through the act of healing that He receives His glory and recognition!
- John 9: 24-25 (NIV)
Your Healing Encourages Others
- As we face life’s trials, we must remember that others are witnessing our process from pain to healing. When God intervenes in our situation, witnesses are encouraged and reminded of His goodness and mercy.
- Some of my closest friends and family members have endured significant difficulties and personal traumas. In witnessing their trials, I have seen some miraculous recoveries! Each time, I thank God and am reminded of his incomparable power! It’s encouraging and serves as an example of what He is able to do in my life as I deal with my own situations.
